The challenge
Mace Operate were looking for a method of independently auditing the cleaning standards at over 20 stores for a global brand retail client across its UK and European operations. Audits needed to be conducted to the agreed method and be consistent in scoring methodology to establish a clear picture of service delivery performance from various service providers, operating within the portfolio.
The solution
Sitemark’s independent auditing of cleaning standards using similar CAFM platforms was the solution given its expertise in the commercial environment and ability to mobilise and deliver the project within a strict timeframe.

Sitemark worked with Mace Operate to prepare a schedule of cleaning audits at selected retail establishments, within a specified time frame, using an existing CAFM platform – Service Channel. The audits were required in UK, Germany, Netherlands, France, and Spain.
Sitemark prepared a timetable of travel and logistics that coordinated with the audit schedule and worked closely with Mace management to coordinate the site visits.
The audits were carried out using consistent scoring methodology to establish comparable standards of cleaning and other FM elements such as health & safety, high level cleaning and external façade, and window cleaning. For a balanced approach, audits included both advisories, and elements that were fulfilling the specification.
The audits were uploaded to the Mace CAFM platform in real time, to enable the Mace management team to analyse and act on operational observations depending on risk and service level agreement with the client.
The audits were backed up with photographic evidence of both compliance and advisories, together with extensive comments and operational observations, to complement the visual appearance. Sitemark completed the project on time, and within the scope of the requirement.
